Subject: Lach Error

Hi Ladies and Gents

Can anyone give an educated opinion as to the reasons this may be
occurring in the SQL error log:

Time out occurred while waiting for buffer latch type 2,bp 0xd770c0,
page 1:8), stat 0xb, object ID 2:1:0, EC 0x46719578 : 0, waittime 300.
Not continuing to wait.

It appears every 5 minutes for a couple of days. Then the serer rolls
over and dies. There are no job scheduled, no data or log backups and
nothing in the Server event logs.

Any advise on how to trace or monitor what activity may be causing this
(disk activity ?) ?

Thanks

Ian
