Here's a question for you: From a sp, I backup my dbs locally, zip them,
then copy them across a network to a test server where they are put onto
tape. Recently the connection to the test server temporarily went down
while this was happenening.....and the job executing the sp got 'stuck.'
I stopped the job, rebooted the server, deleted the file. Then I ran the sp
interactively from query analyzer. It backed up the db in 18 minutes. This
is a 13 gig db.
How did it do that?
