I'm trying to defrag indexes. When I run SHOWCONTIG I get the following
for these tables:
Table: 'arc_in_att' (757577737); index ID: 0, database ID: 7
TABLE level scan performed.
- Pages Scanned................................: 4204
- Extents Scanned..............................: 567
- Extent Switches..............................: 566
- Avg. Pages per Extent........................: 7.4
- Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count].......: 92.77% [526:567]
- Extent Scan Fragmentation ...................: 99.82%
- Avg. Bytes Free per Page.....................: 1499.9
- Avg. Page Density (full).....................: 81.47%
DBCC SHOWCONTIG scanning 'arc_in_bodies' table...
Table: 'arc_in_bodies' (773577794); index ID: 0, database ID: 7
TABLE level scan performed.
- Pages Scanned................................: 5575
- Extents Scanned..............................: 728
- Extent Switches..............................: 727
- Avg. Pages per Extent........................: 7.7
- Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count].......: 95.74% [697:728]
- Extent Scan Fragmentation ...................: 99.86%
- Avg. Bytes Free per Page.....................: 446.4
- Avg. Page Density (full).....................: 94.48%
DBCC SHOWCONTIG scanning 'arc_out' table...
Table: 'arc_out' (789577851); index ID: 0, database ID: 7
TABLE level scan performed.
- Pages Scanned................................: 69342
- Extents Scanned..............................: 8681
- Extent Switches..............................: 8680
- Avg. Pages per Extent........................: 8.0
- Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count].......: 99.85% [8668:8681]
- Extent Scan Fragmentation ...................: 67.31%
- Avg. Bytes Free per Page.....................: 2920.5
- Avg. Page Density (full).....................: 63.92%
After running the following statement: DBCC
DBREINDEX('arc_in_att','',70) or for the other 2 tables, no changes
take place.
I run SHOWCONTIG after running DBREINDEX and nothing seems to change.
Am I missing a parameter, or doing something incorrectly?
Thanks!
