Since we are on the subject of replication, I have a question for the group.
I am trying to implement Transactional Replication by doing a restore of a
dump and not using the snapshot. I am getting errors for NULL values trying
to be entered into Primary Key columns on the subscriber. I called Microsoft
and they said it was a problem with my triggers. They asked me to go through
each trigger (140) and add the syntax Not for replication. So my question
is, does this make sense and if so, is there a way to loop through in a
script and add that syntax to every trigger without going through everyone
of them individually?

Hi Tony,
A good English dictionary (r for replication, c for common and s for sense)
sounds like a good start point for your man.
With heartfelt apologies, I think, in looking for what you've requested, I
may have found how what you're sensibly resisting could be done. It is
apparently possible to specify transformable replications using a DTS packet
in between. I have not investigated in depth; I noticed attached constraints
on updates in the subscriber, but I'm not sure how extensive they are.
Obviously if the database can only be updated by the distributor, the user
might as well have as many extra columns as he fancies - so long as the
disks come off his budget. It does occur to me that if transformable
distribution enables the requested feature but negates any potential
benefit as well, then the makings of a power-user-friendly argument would be
there.
