RE: Link server: DB2 connect vs Host integration

Hi gurus,
We are using Link server (CA driver) to connect to IDMS Mainframe from SQL
server . Currently we in transition to replace IDMS with DB2.
I am been able to setup Link servers using two products: IBM DB2 Connect and
Microsoft Host Integration server. Both works.
Does anybody can provide me with cons and pros why I have to pick one over
another ?

Your responds is very appreciated.

Stan

We had this the other day, it turned out to be 10-15% packetloss that was
causing it.

ping -f -l 1440 sqlserverip

from the connecting machine should show you if there is packet loss on
larger packets than a normal ping.
