Context switching monitoring

Context switching monitoring

We are looking at performance issues on a very busy SQL Server and am
looking for opinions on one value that several books, etc., say to monitor:
Context switches/sec (under the System object). Ours typically averages
around 12-14000. It is a server with two processors hyerthreaded to four.
I trust this group's opinions more than any book, etc. Should I be
concerned? If not, at what level do you think I should be concerned? BTW,
our CPU utilization has been averaging about 50-60% (sometimes even more),
with minimums of 15% and maximums of 95+%, but generally a sine wave pattern
that fluctuates between 35% and 75%.

Any opinions greatly appreciated!!
