I'm not sure if this available in SP2, but look in BOL for
sp_trace_create and sp_trace_setstatus. These could be run by the SQL
agent at the times they want.

Wes

Is it possible to start a Profiler trace in TSQL/command shell? Using
SQL 2K sp2 (If I read correctly, it is possible in TSQL with sp3).

Users want a trace enabled on the first business day of the month
