RE: RE: Urgent Help needed - SQL2K Memory

The server is configured with a dynamic memory setting of minMem 50mB and
maxmem 800mB. This has been since the initial installation. approx 6
months ago. The ave mem usage by SQL has been in the region of 300 - 450mB.
It has been like this until 27'th 02h00. Then it started creeping up and is
now using 800mB the max of its allocated memory.

on your last question...no, did not change anything.

Hope this is the info you wanted.

NS - I haven't restarted yet. I have a fairly good idea this will fix it,
but I want to establish the root cause...

All ideas welcome since I don't know.....

Cheers
Paul

Hi

So tell me, you set the MAX at 800Mb, are you saying that it was, say 200Mb
but is not creeping up to the max? (this is by design btw)

OR

Has SQL Server gone over your instance settings??

Also, did you alter memory settings at any time without an instance restart
or
issues RECONFIGURE ?

Cheers
