For the test purpose you can set the T log size to a lesser size
and create some dummy transactions (insert / update / delete) until the
T log fills up.
For truncating you can look at Backup statement.
"Backup Log <dbname> with truncate_only"

Subject: Filling up the transaction log for notification test
I am new to MS SQL Server. I need to write a stored procedure to fill the
transaction log and then another one to truncate it. Any thoughts?
