RE: Job Prospect In My Office

Just as I was about to send him my resume.
Have yourself a good weekend. You deserve it.

Well, my boss is actually very kind. I am harder on myself than anyone. It
took two years to achieve 99.999 uptime. Now, Poof! it's gone in an instant.
A look of disappointment was the extent of his reproach. But it was enough.

Every one does mistakes.

The best would be for you to find yourselves
disadvantaged after that incident.

If you find that, The better on your part is to start
looking for the job as if you are not working at all.

This is not something to discourage your current
situation, better to look out now, than before you
have to.

My half baked Manager another funny guy, because I
argued with him because he imposed me to perform
some foolish ways to solve the problem (in Oracle)., I
became so much disadvantaged then on all my work &
efforts became invisible and useless performance
review for more improvement.

Initially we were 3 dba, because of too much pressure
at work place they planned to hire another but later
because hiring freeze they did not. within a month a
team mate left and it was 2 of us and within another
month he moved to another team and all the 3 people's
work is handled by me all alone supporting 40 QA
engineers, 30 Engineers , reporting to new Operations
manager, I had put so much of process, optimization in
place and automated in all areas possible working
beyond 12 hours in normal week day, The next quarter
they lay me off.

I am out in the market since last September.

Once you become disadvantaged to anyone in management
team you would easily become victim during hard times
of organization.

Some(Mostly) Managers can easliy become your stupid
back stabbers, when the pressure comes from his higher
manager to reduce the headcount, Then the
disadvantaged will be the first victims to let go/to
be laid off/to be made redundant (Believe me
irrespective of your business criticality, they will
use to achieve their personal goal of getting rid of
the one whom they hate).

SO best is find yourself in what situation and act
now.

Best regards

Dak'
