RE: MSDE Install

RE: MSDE Install

You have to run setup.exe from a command prompt that is pointing to the
directory where setup.exe is located.

You also need to add this switch after setup.exe (put a space between
setup.exe and sapwd) :

Sapwd="mypassword"

Subject: MSDE Install

Hi,

I am trying to install MSDE for the first time, without too much success.
When I run the below command, I get a blue Windows 2000 Setup screen, with a
Usage box in the middle, giving me a list of the various switches that can
be used during setup. I then click ok, and it goes back to my DOS window,
with nothing happening!

setup sapwd="mypwd" DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=0 securitymode=sql
DATADIR="E:\DBA\Data" TARGETDIR="E:\DBA\Install"

Does anyone know what is happening here? Am I missing a step somewhere?
