RE: DB Datafile size script for each database on server ...

Hmmm .....

Robert - you are right on ... that was the exact situation at my last
company, even though it was acquired by the largest payroll processing
company on the planet, and supposedly had budget to keep up with an
unprecedented period of growth. We went from about 500 Oracle user schemas
(one per client) to over 10,000 schemas in about 2 years. My guess is
Somebody in management was trying to hit a golden bonus by pinching
pennies. Only had 1 1/2 Oracle dba's at the beginning. .. and 2 Oracle
dba's when I and another dba left ... (I was the 1/2 Oracle dba, lol).

Many companies are just fine with using up our free time to keep juggling
space issues, memory issues, application reliability issues, human resource
issues, etc.

Always a battle, bro.

I love the script. Do you have a script that will force management to
buy more hard drives for the SAN so I can stop shrinking all the log
files every day to keep the server from maxing out the disk and killing
all of our customer's websites?

Me: We still need more drives.
Mgmt: I know.

Me: When are we getting more drives?
Mgmt: When we get the money for it?

Me (thinking): I'm not coming in to fix any broken websites Saturday
night at 2 AM.
Mgmt (thinking): We don't need hard drives as long as he keeps fixing
the websites at 2 AM every Saturday.

P.S. Handfuls of hair for sale ..... Cheap!!!
