Hi
In EM the SHRINKDATABASE command will use the 'maximum free space..' as
the default amount of free space required for all files in the
database...
If you need more control over the amount of free space required per
each datafile, use SHRINKFILE...In EM this is an additional option in
the lower part of the SHRINKDATABASE dialog box...

Hi Gurus,
One quick question.. I had a table with 2 million records. I deleted
half of
the records. What is the most appropriate way to shrink the database
files.
I know that there is DBCC SHRINKDATABASE and DBCC SHRINK DATAFILES..
But
since both seems to be doing similar job, I am confused which one to
use. Or
is there some other way to do this. I also need some amount of free
space
available in the data files. Are there any other issues that may creep
up
after shrinking the datafile.
