DBA ???

Hi Everyone,
Sorry my this reply is bit out of actual scope of this list (i.e technical problems) but is not totally unrelated. Its about sharing your people experience and views about future of DBA.
As we know microsoft with every version of SQL Server facilating tasks of DBA's. And recently Gord Mangione, Vice President of SQL Server quoted in SQL Server Magazine about new version "Yukon" that "Our goal with ease of use is to let our DBAs concentrate more on working with the software developers-to really become guardians of data..."
Do you think in current economy and more ease for administration tasks in future versions of SQL Servers, will organisations hire a seprate DBA for Administration of SQL Server ? and If DBA's will be likely to be accepted as hybrid DBA's then what will be other technical skills that will help DBA's to stay in value ?
Regards,
Usman
