RE: backup error on sql 7

Sorry for the confusion,
When I wrote the email I didn't notice the mailto:hyperlink.

The dump device is set to dump to a unc path \\server\share.

Subject: backup error on sql 7

DBA group,
I received this error message on a "to disk" database dump.

The Microsoft Tape Format (MTF) soft filemark database on backup device
'dbname_DumpLocation' <mailto:'@dbname_Wednesday_Data'> cannot be read,
inhibiting random access.

The primary problem is that this is a dump to disk and the error
seems to indicate a dump to tape problem.

I have dropped and recreated the dump device and the job that dumps
to this device and still the same error. I have other backup jobs for
the same database that dump to the same path and they run fine.

I have checked around ( MS.com, google, etc ) and gotten no real
showstopper. Anybody out there run into this before?

TIA,

-steveb
