RE: DATABASE NOT PERFORMING

RE: DATABASE NOT PERFORMING

That's what it looks like. I hate it when the database gets the blame.
I'll run a profiler and show them the completion of the calls.. and the
application is still trying to render the data..
Is there a profiler for Oracle?

Monica:

Hmm. I'm a SQL Server DBA, so I can't speak to any Oracle issues.
However, my first thought is this isn't a DB issue. The problem is with
the radio link. My guess is it's timing out and dropping connections.
Maybe others on the list can comment further.

Our Oracle database is housed on a Unix platform The users use Staffware
forms to manipulate information in the database The database in located
in building2, users access it from building2 via a radio link.
Error messages they get are RPC connection to KIM failed (KIM = db
name), Staffware timed out etc etc
