Sql Server, by default, will use as much memory as is available. You can adjust this using the enterpise manager (right-click the server, select properties, select the memory tab) or sp_configure.

Subject: SQL Server is taking too much of memory, in GB........
Dear All,
I have migrated my application & Database from old server to high end
server. But in new server I am having one problem. My SQL Server is taking
very memory usage. It starts around 25-30 MB Memory & goes upto 1.8 1.9 GB
Memory. I really don't know why this should happen.
