We are planning to implement a new failover cluster to replace the existing
cluster. New new boxes are Sun with sixteen processor with thirty two gig
of ram. Because we are trying to avoid waste, the second node will be
virtualized which will leave the failover portion with only four procs and
eight gig of ram. For emergency situations, this will be sufficient.
However, I don¹t know how SQL Server will react to losing twelve procs and
twenty four gig during the failover. Will the failover work or will it
cause server confusion?
