You can also try starting it with the sql server executable in single
user, minimal configuration, modes. Use the -m -f switches and then
you should be able to find and fix the problem, if necessary.
Start with Administrative Tools and look at the Event Log to see why
it's not starting. It may be the password was changed on the Windows
account, or some such.
