RE: New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator

RE: New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator

Thanks,
Kevin but both servers are running the same OS version and sp as well as the
same version and sp of sql. I tried restarting the service and I even
rebooted the box and I'm still getting the same error.

Thanks,
Elecia

I have seen this also, intermittently. Check the version/service packs on
both boxes. You may also want to try restarting the MS DTC service for
both. I haven't found anything that resolves this specific issue. It seems
to go away on its own.

The very first time I saw this problem, I was trying to run a distributed
transaction between a workstation and a server. The Win2K workstation seems
to be missing something that the DTC needs.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,
I have a linked server connection setup from server A to server B. I am able
to select and delete records on server B from server A using this
connection, but, when i attempt to insert a record I get the following error
message. I'm running 2000 on both boxes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Server: Msg 7391, Level 16, State 1, Line 2
The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB'
was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
[OLE/DB provider returned message: New transaction cannot enlist in the
specified transaction coordinator. ]
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'SQLOLEDB'
ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d00a].

Thank you,

Elecia
