Hi Steve
EXEC sp_password NULL, 'password', 'sa';
... you need to be sysadmin to do this
But before doing this I would run the Profiler to monitor any logins with
sa
It could be that some applications use this account to update data (don't
laugh - I've seen this!)
... they will break if you change the password ...
Good luck
Daniel

Changing sa account details
Hi Guys,
Probably a really stupid question and I'll most likely kick myself when
I find out the answer or not as case may be.
I have full administrative rights to a sql instance I have inherited -
however the sa password is not known by anybosy - is there a way to
either change it or find out what it is from the system?
Thanks
Steve
