Hi all,
Here's a "DBA" question:
Has anyone considered installing the DTS designer components on WOW
(Windows on Windows) area on a x64 bit Windows box, to see if it works? I
have hundreds of DTS packages; I'm sure a lot of you do too. It would be
nice to have a x64 bit OLAP SQL 2005 server that could process some of its
own ETL using existing DTS packages. As you all probably know: DTS
doesn't work on x64 bit version of Windows and SQL Server 2005.
...hence the WOW question above...
The DTS designer components do work on x32 bit version of Windows and SQL
Server 2005. Therefore I can run, schedule, edit, and create new DTS
packages on SQL Server 2005. Great, that keeps us from having to convert
them to SSIS all at once. But I'd like to try to get it to work on a x64
box.
Thanks,
Tom Holden
