If I remember correctly by installing the SQL 2005 tools and Microsoft
SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components from here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=df0ba5aa-b4bd-4
705-aa0a-b477ba72a9cb&DisplayLang=en you should be able to run the DTS
packages. You cannot design the packages in x64 though...
You may also need to install the SQLServer2005_XMO_x64.msi as well
(can't quite remember why but we had to install it)

Subject: SQL Server 2005 x64: DTS on WOW32 question
Hi all,
Here's a "DBA" question:
Has anyone considered installing the DTS designer components on WOW
(Windows on Windows) area on a x64 bit Windows box, to see if it works?
I have hundreds of DTS packages; I'm sure a lot of you do too. It would
be nice to have a x64 bit OLAP SQL 2005 server that could process some
of its own ETL using existing DTS packages. As you all probably know:
DTS doesn't work on x64 bit version of Windows and SQL Server 2005.
...hence the WOW question above...
The DTS designer components do work on x32 bit version of Windows and
SQL Server 2005. Therefore I can run, schedule, edit, and create new
DTS packages on SQL Server 2005. Great, that keeps us from having to
convert
them to SSIS all at once. But I'd like to try to get it to work on a
x64
box.
Thanks,
Tom Holden
