RE: DTS Logging

RE: DTS Logging

I have done the same thing, and finally realized what was needed.

In Disconnected Edit, under Steps / <step name> you will see Precedence
Constraints. If a step depends on the completion of a previous step
(for example), this will be under the Precedence Constraints. Select
each item under Precedence Constraints, and look at the properties. One
of the properties will contain the name of the preceding step - the
original name. Edit this field to match the new name (and the same for
all other entries in the DTS package) and the package should start
working again.

Subject: DTS Logging

Hello All,

I have already received great feedback on the above original email,
however, using disconnected edit is very confusing. I have a large DTS
and I want to change the step names for better error logging. Once I do,
the package runs up to that point. However, no steps after run. I can
not figure how to match up the task and the step in Disconnected Edit.
Does anyone have any insight on the matter....I am literally going
crazy.
