RE: DTS Logging

RE: DTS Logging

Do you have calls to xp_cmdshell in transactions? We were having this
problem until we removed instances of this from our code. We built in a
step of pre-loading data into a staging database to ensure stability.
It still happens, but rarely.

Subject: RE: DTS Logging

Here is a confusing one......

SQL 2000 linked server issue. I have established a linked server
connection to a MySQL, and DB2 database. The connection will run for
three, four, five runs of a DTS, and then out of nowhere, just hang. At
the point, I can not view the tables in the connection, and I can not
stop the hanged process. The only solution to date has been to restart
the SQL Service. However, in our production environment, this is not an
easy task, nor a desired one. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

By the way, we are running service pack 3 with plans to upgrade to 4.
However, I find it hard to believe this is an issue.

Thanks
