Ed/Margaret: In SQL2K I create a job to run an Operating System Command
with the following command:
DTSRun /S "PUT SERVER NAME HERE" /N "PUT PACKAGE NAME HERE" /W "0" /E
The trailing arguments are:
/W Windows_Event_Log (Specifies whether or not to write the completion
status of the package execution to the Windows Application Log. Specify
True or False.)
/E Specifies a trusted connection (password not required).
I haven't had a need to try it in SQL2K5 yet, but it wouldn't hurt to
give it a try.

Now, Margaret!
If you didn't have a SQL Server Agent Job, and you want to run a SSIS
Job (formerly DTS), you have to download the DTS 2000 Designer add-in.
Please take a few minutes to provide feedback on the quality of service

Subject: SQL2005 DTS schedule legacy job
I've pulled over a DTS job from my old SQL server to my SQL2005 server
and it's put it into the Legacy folder. When I go to try to create a
scheduled job to run it, Legacy is not one of my choices.
How do I create a job to schedule my legacy DTS to run or will I have to
re-create the job in SSIS?
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know them.
