I also think there might be some blocking / locking going on. You
wouldn't need to restart your server for that. Run sp_who2 and find if
the query is getting blocked the next time.

Next time it happens have a look at the Process Info under Current
Activity
and look for anything blocking or being blocked.

Hi All

We have despatch table in database. I am putting one select query & It
is
keep executing upto 20 mins.
dbcc checktable('despatch') is also keep executing. After that i have
restart the server than run same query now it is executing and giving
result.
Pls somebody guide me. Why it is occurring & How to prevent it without
restarting the server
