Try:
select datename(dw,getdate())

replace the getdate function with the column you want. Look up DATENAME in
BOL.

I need to get day in string format ( AS SUNDAY ) for a
given date.I checked the BOL but couldnt find it.Does
somebody knows this.I am using SQL 2000.
