My vote - Fresh install then either backup and restore to the new server
or detach and attach, or do the wizard thingy!

Subject: Fresh Install or Upgrade
If you were upgrading from SQL Server 2000 to 2005 would you do a fresh
install or would you just upgrade, I ask this because sometimes I think
a clean install just works that much better.. and has less residue
issues..
Any input?
