Subject: SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (migration)
Ladies and Gents (and Ed),
I am currently in the midst of a migration from 2000 to 20005. Only one
hold-up Reporting Services...
Let me just start off by saying we run everything on virtual machines
so, I
am working on a clone and my current production box is functioning just
fine... When I am content with the migration I will just bring the
latest
backups over and roll out with 2005 (renaming my new server to the old
server
name)...
Anyway, I am trying to migrate Reporting Services and it isn't going so
well...
I have been referencing the following URLs for the process...
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143724.aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156421.aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143736.aspx
Through it all I am just getting my butt kicked... I backed up keys and
dbs
etc. Brought everything over to the new server and I can't get the
reporting
services service to allow me to do anything...
Does anyone have a cut and dry (at this point easy reading) guide to
follow
on this?
I am just going to uninstall reporting services and start from
Scratch...
Thanks,
-lance
