In oracle look at your alert logs. It will have a file name and a location
if you open this file it gives you details
about what process was/is locked.
In SQL server go to Enterprise Manager click on Management ..Current
Activity..Locks/Process ID
This will give you the who is blocking by holding a lock and who is being
blocked because the lock
is being held.You can click on the blocking lock to see the SQL that is
run and have a choice to kill the
process.
