RE: Upgrade 6.5 to 2000

RE: Upgrade 6.5 to 2000

I did an upgrade from 6.5 to 2000 approx a year ago, and the wizard worked
pretty well for me. I stopped it at the point where it can generate the
error messages, and saved them out to review. There were several procs that
had been written to use the system tables, and we reworked these before
restarting the upgrade.

You could always leave the databases at 6.5 compatibility, and then work
forward.

Of course, if you have a development server, practice, practice, practice
:-)

Do y'all recommend using the upgrade wizard for this upgrade? I see a
few notes in MS about problems / bugs with the wizard....Should I use
BCP instead or is there another way?

thanks.
