Just stop the mssqlserver and the agent ...go to the Binn directory and
run the rebuildm application...............that will rebuild your master
database .......and will give you the option to change the
collation........
For a precise explaination go to books online and search for collation
and/ or rebuildm ....
Good luck

Hi All,
I didn't know one could change the collation without having to reload. I
am currently presented with the problem of having to do this change. Can
someone please let me know or point me to a website that explains how
this is done.
thanx
meshal

HI Anthony,
There is no other way than rebuilding the master DB
and while doing that u dont need to do anything with
msdb or model.
But keep the backup of all the user dbs as well, u
would require it at the later stage.
Regards
Mandeep
