I guess I can help with the rest
exec xp_fixeddrives
will give you disk space free
I use a continuously running job as below to watch my P drive and exec
a cdosys mail message to my pager when it gets below 6GB:
declare @MB_Free int
create table #FreeSpace(
Drive char(1),
MB_Free int)
insert into #FreeSpace exec xp_fixeddrives
select @MB_Free = MB_Free from #FreeSpace where Drive = 'p'
-- Free Space on F drive Less than Threshold
if @MB_Free < 6048
exec master.dbo.sp_send_cdosysmail
