Hello, All,
I'm attempting to beef up my alerts and would appreciate any insight.
The first problem I've run into is that attempting to trigger off of
'Error message contains this text:' doesn't seem to be working. For
example, I'd like %ad hoc% to flag all of the following sysMessages
errors: { 259, 1706, 5808, 7415, 15422, 15432}.
It seems, though, that the only way I can flag these (and about 20
others) is to define the event solely on the Error Number, followed by
selecting the ellipses, editing the error and clicking 'Always write to
Windows Event Log'. I guess I could do that, but I'd like to automate
this across a number of servers. I can script out the creation of the
alert, but the last bit eludes me. It isn't accomplished with Traceon,
I can't find a relevant field in a table, nor a registry entry, nor can
I find an appropriate system stored procedure nor extended stored
procedure.
TIA for any help.
Thanks,
Kevin
