Yes, you will need/want a 3rd party app to translate your HL7 data. You
can write your own, but handling the record sequences and variable
fields is quite a pain. I have used Interfaceware's Chameleon in the
past. While a bit pricy, it will save literally weeks of time trying to
write a custom solution.
