In order to shrink the data files, you must be member of SYSADMIN server role , or DBOWNER database role.

hi,
my problem is regarding shrinking of log file on the main server(MS SQL 200) to which 50000 records will be added every day. previously we had a user say xx which has all the properties of sysadmin.. with this user i was able to shrink log file using dbcc shrink log file command,, but now the properties has been changed for that user by somebody,, now if i try to shrink log file its giving error msg like to shrink a log file the user need to member of sysadmin.. from sql enterprise manager also i am unable to do it...when i right click on database shrinkdatabase option in invisible.
so can anyone guide me to solve this problem thanks, regards murali.
