Does anyone know what governs the Database Size in SQL Server 7.0?
In some statistics I produce, the "allocated space" usually grows to about
56% of the "database size", at which point the "database size" is
automatically increased so as to make the percentage about 47%. As data is
added, the percentage grows until it is about 56% again, at which point the
"database size" is again increased.
But recently, very soon after an increase to give 47%, another increase has
happened to give 43%. The "database size" seems to be increasing out of
control.
Does anyone know which controls govern this?
I need to get this under my control.
Cheers.
