Can be many reasons.
Is a ping on the server working ?
Is it possible to create a DSN (ODBC Data Source Name) for this server ?

Subject: "Timeout expired" error from query analyser


I get the following error when trying to connect to Sql server from
Query Analyser during login.


"[ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired"


I tried changing the query time out values in connections tab in Server
configuration.It didn't help.


Any help appreciated.
