In addition to running Sql server under a domain account, you should *not*
map the network drive containing the backup file. Rather, you should create
a dump device with the UNC of the drive as in
\\server\C$\path\dump.bak
Then you will see it in your list of dump devices in EM.

Subject: How to backup a database across a mapped drive in SQL 2000
How do you backup a database to a mapped drive in the SQL2000 GUI?
When I try to select the drive or even qualify it I don't see it as a choice
in the drop down for drives? Thank you for your help in advance.
