My experience with migrations are pretty flawless in the moving from 7
to 2k. Be sure you do this in your QA or dev environment first, before
moving anything. Once you have done the dev migration, look at your data
types and make sure none of them changed types on you. Your MDAC will be
upgraded to 2.6 or 2.6.1 I forget which one. Be sure to install the same
versions on both your app server and your database server if need be. I
recommend 2.6.2 for all boxes running 2k it fixes a lot of bugs.

Subject: moving from sql server 7.0 to 2000
Hi all,
Our client is thinking of moving from sql server 7.0 to 2000. We have
developed an application that's is now using
sql server 7.0 as the backend. My question is what are the possible
thinks
that we should ask them or ask them
to implement before switching to sql server 2000.
